- Solid grasp of core security principles such as confidentiality, authentication, access control, privacy, security vulnerabilities, physical security issues, protocol design flaws, malicious code, implementation flaws, configuration weaknesses, user errors, and user indifference.
- Ability to work in a 24x7 diverse IT environment including Data Center, NOC, or SOC, with full conversance in Operations and Management functions of Data Center/NOC/SOC.
- Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage SOC operations during assigned shifts on a 24/7 basis.
- Lead, drive, facilitate, and chair investigation activities, meetings, and conference calls.
- Form collaborative action plans with specific actions, roles, and deadlines, ensuring their execution.
- Perform proactive threat hunting and advanced analysis to detect emerging and persistent threats.
- Lead and coordinate cybersecurity incident responses according to approved SOPs.
- Validate, prioritize, and escalate security alerts and incidents following defined procedures.
- Conduct technical analysis, containment, and initial forensic handling of security incidents.
- Coordinate with SOC analysts and technical teams for incident resolution and system recovery.
- Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and shift handover of incidents and operational activities.
- Report significant threats, incidents, and operational issues to higher authorities in a timely manner while leveraging technology to manage stakeholders and communications.
